Chapter 23 Good In Bed
“You don’t know this, but he treats me pretty well, Serena…” Calliope smiled.
“He treats you well?” Serena raised an eyebrow in disbelief.

Serena had heard Calliope tell her that the latter returned her wedding dress to the store on the second day after her wedding but was shamed by the sales a**istant. Dominic then purchased the most expensive wedding dress in the store out of anger and made the a**istant kneel to take Calliope’s measurements,
Back then, she had already felt Dominic was a red flag for being egotistical and temperamental.
But the main issue was that he was using Calliope’s savings to splurge.
“Cally, if you believe that he’s treating you well simply because he stood up for you at the bridal store and gave you his family heirlooms, then you’re being naive and don’t understand what a marriage should entail. Marriage is a two–way street. You shouldn’t work your butt off while he reaps all the benefits.”
Feeling angry and frustrated with Calliope’s decisions in life, Serena poked her forehead.
Calliope is kind but too trusting.
She was the kind of person who would repay someone’s kindness with her entire life.
In Serena’s opinion, Dominic, who had been to jail before, was taking advantage of Calliope, who was naive and inexperienced.
“How could a man who has been to jail spend all his wife’s money like that? He shouldn’t even be considered a real man!” Serena added.
Unexpectedly, Calliope’s expression became serious, and the joy in her eyes disappeared. “Do not speak about my husband that way,” she said sternly.
Serena was caught off guard and didn’t know what to say.
“Yes, I am defending him. I am indulging him as well! But so what? He’s my husband, and I stand by him. I know he has his flaws, and I know that his flaws are red flags to you. But I’m the one who is going to spend the rest of my life with him. I know very well what kind of person he is.” Calliope bravely defended Dominic, despite his past.
She continued, “I don’t think he’s a bad guy even though he has a history of getting into fights and going to jail. Plus, I think he’s an honorable man. Besides, I’m the one who lied to him. He still doesn’t know my real identity, and the Gingriches wouldn’t have paid for my mom’s hospital bills if I didn’t marry him. I should be grateful to him! So…” Calliope swallowed as her face turned red. “Don’t speak ill of my husband in front of me ever again. I don’t appreciate it.”
Serena widened her eyes in shock.
The Calliope she knew was gentle, kind, and reserved. She never thought that Calliope could argue so eloquently. She looks adorable with her stubbornness.
Serena regained her composure and let out a self–deprecating laugh. She then sighed and raised her hands in resignation.
“Okay. I won’t badmouth your husband in front of you ever again! Jeez, at the end of the day, you two are married and share a bed. How can I compare…”
Calliope’s face flushed crimson at her words.
Serena couldn’t help but smirk, thinking Calliope was having dirty thoughts. “Speaking of which… Is he good in bed? Why else would you be so dead set on defending him and spending so much money on him?”
“Serena…” Calliope turned even redder from embarra**ment. “What are you talking about?”
Come on. You know you can tell me anything!” Serena’s smile grew even wider. “Don’t worry about it. Just think of it as keeping a boy toy. He’s good–looking and good in bed anyway. So the money you spent is totally worth it.“
